DESTINY DECISIONS | THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW

Season 16 Episode 2

Matthew 1:18-25 NLT

Premise

Sometimes destiny throws us curve balls that force us to pivot concerning the thing we have prayed for, waited on, and/or longed for. If not carefully considered we could forfeit what is actually from God. With intentionality and faith we must surrender our decision making to the Lord and allow Him to guide our next steps. We are now at the crossroads of making destiny decisions that could shift the trajectory of our lives.

Fundamental truths

1. Decision making in God looks like His will over our understanding. His path over our way.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

2. Decision making in God looks like prayer over stress. Peace over anxiety. Having the peace of the Lord is a choice not an emotion.

Philippians 4:6-9 NLT

3. Decision making in God looks like asking God for wisdom over hoping that everything falls into place. Clear cut decisions over back and forth pretensions.

James 1:5-8 NKJV

Scriptural Insight

1. What God is birthing in and through your life next did not and/or will not be born from human power or strength but out of the almighty because He knows what’s next. The secret is……let Him use your life even when you don’t understand why. Sometimes Holy decisions are made on your behalf and not with your approval.

Matthew 1:18 NLT

2. If not careful you can mistake what is from God as an attack, battle, or defeat not understanding it is the greatest set up of your life. It is imperative that our decisions are based on heavens information and not just natural emotion.

Matthew 1:19 NLT

3. There’s a word from the Lord concerning your life. The Lord will allow things to take place so that this word can be fulfilled. Be OPEN to God CHANGING your decisions even though what you were/are about to decide is “righteous”.

Matthew 1:20-23 NLT

4. Following the instruction of the Lord is a CHOICE. Waiting on your emotions to catch up to obedience could be difference in aborting and manifestation. He chose obedient decisions over comfortable complacency.

Matthew 1:24-25 NLT
