BLESSED | THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW

Season 16 Episode 10

Matthew 5:1-12 NKJV

Premise

The Lord Jesus teaches us through a series of blessings that part of our discipleship is learning to release so that we may obtain. No release, no blessing. To release, is to be blessed.

Blessings

Jesus blesses those who know they are in NEED. You must have a need from the king to revive His kingdom. You qualify for the blessing when you approach Jesus as one who is need.

““Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:3 NKJV

Problem

Pride and personal independence

Reward

Kingdom of Heaven

1. The blessing of being comforted is only released when there is mourning. The blessing is released when there is something to exchange.

“Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.”

Matthew 5:4 NKJV

2. The blessing of being comforted is only released when there is mourning. The blessing is released when there is something to exchange.

“Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.”

Matthew 5:4 NKJV

3. Meekness proceeds inheritance. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should and sometimes when you choose restraint, God chooses release. Above all choose humility, that is where grace resides.

“Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.”

Matthew 5:5 NKJV

4. In order to be filled you have to be empty. When we learn to empty ourselves of everything unnecessary to our purpose, God chooses to fill us with what is necessary for our destiny. Desire the right things to be filled with the right thing.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6 NKJV

5. Mercy begets mercy. If you want it, give it. This blessing is released when you release.

“Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.”

Matthew 5:7 NKJV

6. Purity opens the door for sight and revelation. To see God is live pure. This blessing is awakened when our sinful nature is crucified.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.”

Matthew 5:8 NKJV

7. Peace is an tribute of a child of God. Therefore the blessing is attached to how much peace you are willing to MAKE. This blessing is attached to how you deal with others.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.”

Matthew 5:9 NKJV

8. Persecution is a sign of the kingdom. Learning to stand in it produces the blessing of the kingdom.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:10 NKJV

9. To be talked about and mistreated is a sign of becoming like Christ. To remain in Him is to receive the blessing.

““Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.”

Matthew 5:11 NKJV

10. Celeberate when you have the opportunity to receive and embrace such blessing. Heaven is near!

“Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Matthew 5:12 NKJV
